- Postdoctoral openings are advertised in the mailing list of the Psi-k network and are archived in the Psi-k portal.
- The Department always welcome applications for graduate (PhD) studies - deadline is generally in early January. GRE is required, and TOEFL or proof of language proficiency; the MIT website has full instructions on the admission procedure. Once admitted, a graduate student is typically supported by the supervisor for the entire duration of the PhD - this is to say that one doesn't have to pay for his/her studies, but rather is paid. Note that applications do not go directly to a prospective supervisor, but to the Department. Key is thus getting admitted by the Department.
